WOZNIAK ANNOUNCES $1.4 MILLION INVESTMENT IN CLINTON CO.

HARRISBURG, October 27 - State Sen. John Wozniak announced today a $1.4 million investment in Clinton County that will preserve dozens of jobs while expanding a local business.

“It’s exciting to participate in a plan that will keep jobs in the region,” Wozniak said. “We’re going to continue to fight for every opportunity we can to support local workers and the local economy.”

Wozniak worked with Governor Edward G. Rendell’s “Action Team” to put together the financial package for APC International Ltd., a manufacturer of piezoelectric products, such as buzzers and igniters.  The company will move its facility in Mackeyville to a larger, 12,000 square foot plant in the Lamar Township Business Park.  The project is expected to retain 27 jobs and create an additional 38 over three years.

In addition to the relocation, the loan package will help the company turn its Mackeyville building into a research and development facility.

“It’s important to identify quality, cutting-edge companies and help them remain in Pennsylvania,” Wozniak said. “This is precisely the kind of project that will help us prepare for the economy of the future.”

The financial package includes loans from a variety of sources, including the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority ($844,000), Small Business First ($200,000), Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund ($200,000). The plan also include a $75,000 Opportunity Grant and $67,000 for job training.

“With this commitment to new jobs in Clinton County, we are making an investment in the future of our people, our communities and businesses,” Rendell said in a release.
