WOZNIAK TO SERVE ON SIX SENATE COMMITTEES

HARRISBURG, January 16, 2007 –
State Senator John N. Wozniak (D-Johnstown) has been tapped to serve on six Senate committees.

Wozniak will serve on the following committees: Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Appropriations; Communications & Technology; Community & Economic Development; Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure; and Finance, where he will serve as democratic chair.

“I am honored to be able to serve on such a wide range of committees,” Wozniak said. “I am especially honored to chair the Finance committee. I am prepared to work on the challenging revenue issues facing Pennsylvania.”

The Finance committee is one of the most important committees in the Senate. It is the committee that focuses on money saving initiatives for Pennsylvania, promoting of economic issues, and assuring that state funds are being spent in accordance with legislative intent and law.

“All the committees I have been assigned to will offer challenges that I am more than ready to get started on and I look forward to working with my colleagues on these very important issues.”
