WOZNIAK ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR CLINTON
COUNTY RAIL PROJECTS HARRISBURG, MARCH 28, 2008 – State Sen. John N. Wozniak announced today that two Clinton County railroad projects will receive funding from the state. “Railroads hold not only an honored place in Pennsylvania’s economic history, but they also represent opportunity for building a cleaner, brighter future,” Wozniak said. “With the price of foreign energy and the cost of highway maintenance skyrocketing, the rail lines of the past could be part of the energy solution of the future.” The Rail Freight Assistance Program grants went to: · Croda, Inc. a Mill Hall chemical manufacturer, for yard track rehabilitation and new siding construction along the Mill Hall Industrial Track, operated by the Nittany and Bald Eagle Railroad. Total: $88,585 · SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority, in Lock Haven to extend an existing siding to construct a runaround track located along the Nittany and Bald Eagle Railroad mainline. Total: $191,800 |
